Montreal

In early December we (finally) headed to Montreal as part of David's 40th Birthday present.
It was cold cold cold! Here are some snap shots of our trip.......

The Notre Dame Basilica

Inside was ornate and beautiful, we were lucky to see it all set up for Christmas complete with nativity scene, trees and candles galore - amen!

We also headed to the Center of Canadian Architecture. I am a very nice, if not a slightly frozen wife!

The Place de Armes, where Charles de Gaulle declared - "Viva la livre Quebec!"

An exhibit outside the Museum of Contemporary Art, looks like icebergs - get it?

 Downtown in the Snow!

Happy Thanksgiving

Last week we headed over to California for Thanksgiving as well as a little surprise for David.

David knew something was up as soon as we missed the last turn off to his parents house......"I'm not blind and I'm not stupid- whats going on??!!!"

We met Candy, Dana and Conner at La Quinta in Palm Desert for a few days of relaxation and golf. As you can see it was JUST picturesque and the best way to wind down over the holidays.

David's 40th

Back in November, David turned the Big 4 - 0. My months of meticulous planning turned out to be quite fruitless, with the arrival of Sandy.

In a nutshell, the restaurant that took a month to get into was closed, our surprise weekend away had to be canceled, and all his cards and gifts arrived late due to the post being shut down.

Boo!!

However like true New Yorkers, we soldiered on and had a great time anyway. We had dinner at a new wine bar in our area called Kilo, and David's book arrived at the 11th hour - so he had something to open!

Back from the dead....

Hmmm - so I don't know not where to start after not blogging for 2 months, except prepare yourself for alot of flashbacks!

Things have been frantic with us since Summer ended.... too many birthdays to count, house guests to boot - including my cousin Matthew and some bitch called "sandy" visiting unexpectedly!

All in all we have had our hand full!

More posts soon - I promise.

Tennis Fever

The only thing that makes New York bearable in August is the US Open! David and I become tennis nuts for two weeks and enjoy the atmosphere and excitement that captures the city.

This year we were lucky enough to go twice, first seeing Sharapova and Murray.......

....and then Ivanovic and Mardy Fish. We currently hold the record for always seeing the champion.

A shout out to Alex's work for the loge seats - they were phenomenal!

Truluck's

What to do on Saturday night in Florida? Eat stone crab!

We made our way to Truluck's for Florida's famous stone crab, a delicious sweet crab grown in the warm waters off the coast.

Fun fact: fisherman only ever remove one claw, as the limbs re-grow stronger and bigger, in less than one year. This is has helped fishing practices, sustainability and local number in the stone crab community!

We paired the stone crab with the new culinary trend of the "wine flight". Why have 1 glass when you can have 4?!?

More seafood than sense!

Sun Protection at its best!

Lets be honest, natural tanning went out years ago.

However since the disastrous spray tan of 2007, I decided to embrace my natural "off white" coloring!
