New Cabinet

Our little flat has been very quiet for the past few days now that Sucheta has return to Oz. David and I had a truly wonderful time seeing her and missing her very much this week!

Sucheta did leave an array of presents scattered throughout the apartment and this has eased the pain significantly!

With a vacation planned for next week, we decided to order a big cabinet so we can finalise all our unpacking once we return. It is due to arrive later in the month and we will be able to display all our china and wedding presents- finally!
It will be great to get everything out of boxes once and for all!

Sucheta's Last Night

After the excitement of the West Village we headed home for a relaxing evening. It was also an excuse to "theme-out" the apartment - Halloween style!

The cupcakes were cracked open and it was a wonderful way to send Sucheta off!

Excitement in the West Village

Sunday was a lazy day, and after a much needed sleep-in we headed to the West Village for a late brunch. It was not without a surprise!

After a week of Sex in the City chit chat and sight seeing, Sucheta pronounced that she "would absolutely not be able to stand it - if we ran into a celebrity".

No sooner had the words left her mouth than we turned the corner to see.................

"Bueller?...............................Bueller?"

Sucheta and I were silent for the first time in a week.

After the initial shock had worn off, we headed over to Extra Virgin, a trendy cafe in the Village for some brunch and a much needed mimosa!

It was then onto the famous Magnolia bakery to grab cupcakes for dinner.

Buddakan

After the excitement of visiting Carrie's stoop, it was only fitting that dinner on Saturday night was at Buddakan. This is the location of Carrie & Big's rehearsal dinner from the SITC in the movie, it is pure NYC cool.

Sucheta channelling Carrie - again!

La!

Having to book over a month in advance, we were highly anticipating a gastronomic feast, and it did not disappoint! We dined on Modern Asian fusion with dishes such as lobster egg rolls, roast duck noodles, and veggie rice with coconut foam.

It was a wonderful evening and we left feeling suitable stuffed and somewhat glamorous!

Friday Fun: Plaza & Pasta

In preparation for the weekend, we decide to kick things off with some fabulousity via drinks at the Plaza. Sucheta enjoyed a chocolate style martini and Alex had a watermelon martini!

It was then onto the West Village and our Italian fave, Mallatesta Trattoria. We were joined by David and Ken for gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce, cheese ravioli and tagliatelle with beef ragu.

We then continued on the "unofficial" Sex in the City Tour, visiting the street that Carrie lived on and her stoop, before grabbing in a cab and heading home.

Times Square

After dinner we took a stroll around Times Square and Broadway. We walked passed the theatre where David Letterman films his show, the building where the ball drops on New Years Eve, the Hersey Chocolate store, and all the bright lights of Broadway shows.

After much excitement it was time to call the limo and head home!

Alvin & Victor

On Wednesday night we headed to a preview of the Ailey 2 at the Joyce Theatre. Ailey 2 is a junior dance group composed of the most promising scholarship students from The Ailey School. The members typically are very young and many of the members go on to pursue successful careers as dancers, teachers and choreographers with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. It was a wonderful performance, private and imitate, and allowed us to sit very close and be captivated by the dancers.

Afterwards we headed to Victor's Cafe that is famous for being the longest running Cuban Cafe in New York. We enjoyed a fabulous meal of authentic Cuban dishes.............

..................and then some mojito's !

Adios!
