As I am not a huge Elvis fan, I decided to come to the party with a Safari themed outfit - behold!

Safari Alex in the Jungle Room!

Basement/recording area, with a crazy monkey that haunted all of us.

Gold records

Peabody Marching Ducks

The tradition of the marching ducks at The Peabody is one of the must do sights in Memphis.

Luckily for us, we were staying at the Peabody - ohh la la.

Each morning at 11am the ducks ride down from the penthouse, march the red carpet to the fountain in the lobby.........

..........they spend the day splashing around in the lobby .........

...............and at 5 pm march back down the red carpet and take the lift back to the penthouse.

Very cute, but oddly I was craving duck for dinner........

Rendezvous at Rendezvous

FridayIi jumped a plane to Memphis, Tennessee for a weekend with my favorite girls from Texas.

Patti and I met at the airport, a result of serious planning of flight arrivals, and made our way into the city and headed to Charles Vergo "Rendezvous".

This is one of the most famous places in Memphis for BBQ and thus started our weekend eating pork with every meal.

Pork Nachos & Pork ribs.

After dinner, Susan and Debbie arrived ..............

.............and the gang was back together! Waiter not included.

Alista & Christian

The excitement of the marathon could only be matched by the arrival of Alista & Christian.

They are visiting NYC on a jam packed whirlwind trip so we managed to squeeze in dinner on Sunday night.

It was soo good seeing them and catching up, I can't believe it has been almost 2 years since we left Australia!

Run Rachel Run

Sunday was the New York City Marathon, the major annual event that posses 45, 000 people to don their sneakers (argh) head to Staten Island (double argh) and run 43km/26 miles thru the 5 boroughs of NYC – argh argh aarrgghh!!

If you have not already gathered, David and I did not participate. However we came out in full support of Rachel who was running for the 10th time but the first time since she had baby Annabelle.

We were able to download her race number and track her on David’s i-phone, which made things much easier.

We headed to Harlem, on 110th and 1st Ave for the first sighting, the energy and excitement was amazing, it really felt like a New Yorker thing to do.

I was so overcome when I saw Rachel approach, I jumped out onto the course and snapped this great pic......and I just want to say that it was totally worth being reprimanded by the police!

It was then over to 110th and 5th Ave for the 2nd viewing and managed to run into Ritchie in the crowd – seriously what are the odds?

Complete with signs, we almost missed Rachel but due to Ritchi’s sign she managed to see us before we saw her.

We even saw the Chilean Miner!

It was then back to R&R place to help set up for the party.
Congratulations Rachel what an AMAZING effort!

Although to be fair we were running around NYC all day as well ☺

Fall Fling

On Saturday night we threw a party to make use of our outdoor space before the snow arrives and it is rendered useless.

This was also the perfect excuse to introduce people, helped by everyone bringing an unattached eligible friend of the opposite sex.

It was also an excuse for me to theme our apartment in festive fall décor in time for thanksgiving.

Before we knew it, twenty something thirty somethings engulfed our apartment for some well mannered fun.............aided and abetted by my signature fall cocktail, Cranberry Pomegranate Champagne!

A good time was had by all, evident by the 2 cases of beer, 10 bottles of champagne, 3 bottles of red, 2 bottles of white that were consumed.

Whilst the party came to a close around 2am, the usual suspects were up till the wee hours making mischief!

Gobble gobble gobble!

Happy Birthday Bridget

Friday night Miss Bridget turned 3-0!

It was down to the Village to celebrate with some Mexican food and good old fashion fun.

Alex and Chris

Make a wish!
