After some wandering along the beach, we grabbed the local bus and headed to Villefranche-Sur-Mer about 20mins from Nice. It is a picturesque boosting town settling amongst steep hills and windy roads.

We indulged on a fabulous lunch with a view of the harbour, before heading to the Rothschild Estate at Cap Ferrat. Its situated at the end of a peninsula with sweeping views of Villefranche and Nice to the right and Monaco to the left - simply divine!

The gardens in the estate.

View of Monaco.

View of Villefranche and Beaulieu-sur-Mer.

You may find the coastline familiar, it was the filming location for the 1988 classic Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
